Chapter 22
The city where the players lived was no different from an ordinary city.
There were shopping malls, residences, and restaurants.
Just by looking at the numb or frightened faces of the people passing by, one could tell that this wasn’t an ordinary city.
In a coffee shop.
Shen Dongqing looked curiously at the black liquid in the cup and tried to put a small spoonful into his mouth.
“It’s so bitter.” He frowned and stuck out his tongue.
Zhou Wenyan, who was sitting opposite him, picked up the sugar and poured it into the cup. “Try it again.”
Shen Dongqing took another bite, half-believing and half-doubting.
The taste was much sweeter, and it didn’t taste as bad.
But he didn’t like the taste, so he pushed it aside in disgust.
Zhou Wenyan called the waiter over. “Give me a cup of Coke.”
Sure enough, Shen Dongqing preferred this kind of sparkling drink. With two ice cubes, it was cold and sweet.
Just as Shen Dongqing was drinking the Coke, Zhou Wenyan said, “In the previous game, I wanted to ask …”
He hesitated for a moment before asking, “Have we met before?”
When they first met, Zhou Wenyan felt that Shen Dongqing was strangely familiar, but he couldn’t remember.
In fact, he had wanted to ask before, but he was interrupted by someone else, so he didn’t have the chance to mention it again.
Shen Dongqing raised her head and let out an “ah” before tilting her head. “I don’t remember.”
He had lived for a long time, but sometimes he was awake and sometimes he was confused. He couldn’t remember anything clearly, but looking at Zhou Wenyan’s age, he knew that they didn’t have any relationship in the past.
“No,” Shen Dongqing said with certainty.
Zhou Wenyan didn’t say anything after he got the answer.
But a girl at the next table overheard their conversation and said with a smile, “What era is it now? You’re still using such words to strike up a conversation?”
She raised her glass to Zhou Wenyan. “If you want to chase someone, you have to be quick.”
After this, Zhou Wenyan skipped that part and changed the topic.
“Are you willing to bind with me?”
Shen Dongqing: “Bind?”
Zhou Wenyan explained, “After you’re bound, you’ll be together in the following games.”
Shen Dongqing thought about it and said, “Okay.”
Shen Dongqing liked to play games with Zhou Wenyan.
However, there was one thing that was not so good. Every time she got close to him, she had to control herself from biting him.
Fortunately, they didn’t have to worry about food or water in the previous world. If it was a less fun world, they might not be able to hold it in.
However … it wasn’t a bad idea to use it as food reserves.
Zhou Wenyan inexplicably felt that Shen Dongqing, who was sitting opposite him, was looking at him with a bit of… passion?
Zhou Wenyan ignored this strange feeling and explained some of the game rules. “Actually, there is a certain interval between each game. The higher the level, the lower the frequency. For example, in the B-level dungeon, there is a three-month break.”
If an ordinary player were to hear this good news, they would probably laugh out loud.
However, Shen Dongqing’s reaction was different. He looked depressed. “Doesn’t that mean I can’t play anymore?”
He felt that this game was quite fun, more fun than mobile games.
If he couldn’t play games for three months, it would be boring to stay in his room.
