Chapter 470: Peerless Beauty?
Chapter 470: Peerless Beauty?
After the arrival of the Dreamsea Abalones, a chill instinctively spread among many in the assembly.
Before the Three Immortals, demons and devils were the true adversaries of mankind!
In the vast expanse of the myriad worlds, too many tales of woe wrought by the Dreamsea Abalones had been left behind.
The Martial Emperor Clan may have destroyed the Devil Ark, but never conquered the Oblivion Demon Sea!
In an instant, hundreds of icy gazes turned simultaneously toward the approaching figures.
Emerging from the mists below, approximately 200 silhouettes made their way through the enchanting white smoke, their arrival accompanied by a fantastically alluring sound. Laughter, light and intoxicating, wafted through the air, tickling the bones of those nearby. Though yet to fully appear, it seemed as if they were already whispering sweet nothings into Yun Xiao’s ear, their dreamy murmurs entangling him.
Soon, the scene transformed into one of ethereal beauty, with light fabrics dancing in the air, and a flock of graceful figures entering the view, drifting into everyone’s sight.
Yun Xiao’s gaze was intense as he looked on. To his astonishment, these 200 figures were all women! And not just any women, but beauties.
Each possessed a nearly perfect form, with slender waists that suggested they could be encompassed by a single arm, long, graceful legs, and figures that were the epitome of elegance. Their long hair fluttered in the breeze, and their faces were distinctive. Some were delicate, others enchanting, some cold as ice, others as warm as fire.
What drew the eye most, however, was their attire, or the lack thereof. Clad in little more than sheer fabrics, their sublime beauty was barely concealed, exuding a saintly allure.
These 200 ethereal beauties, with their light songs and graceful dances, approached, their sweet laughter enchanting, their movements full of charm and allure, their eyes brimming with fiery suggestions…
Yun Xiao cleared his throat, thinking to himself, “Even if they’re demons, even a celestial emperor would be tempted in this situation.”
Illusion, confusion, and bewitchment… these were the tools of the Dreamsea Abalones! Their entrance in such a manner was not beyond Yun Xiao’s expectations.
“Don’t look!” Lian Xi, seeing Yun Xiao enchanted, pinched his arm in irritation.
“Lil Xi, I’m using this eye,” Yun Xiao pointed to the Soulfire Eye on his forehead.
“And what do you see?” Lian Xi asked, somewhat disbelieving.
“Something akin to an abalone, but not black, white like a pearl,” Yun Xiao revealed the true form of the Dreamsea Abalone.
“You could discern that?” Lian Xi no longer harbored any annoyance.
To others, they were beholding over 200 embodiments of charm and beauty, yet what Yun Xiao saw was a cluster of clams opening and closing… and yet, he felt no disgust. This was because Yun Xiao had glanced only once with the Soulfire Eye; the rest of the time, he indulged in the illusion.
“Are all Dreamsea Abalones female?” Yun Xiao whispered to Lian Xi.
“Only their Emperor is not,” Lian Xi replied.
“An Emperor? Is he the Mirage Immortal?” Yun Xiao inquired.
“Yes! Only he is male; the rest are female,” Lian Xi explained.
“Does that mean the entire Dreamsea Abalone Clan is his harem?” Yun Xiao asked, somewhat shocked.
“You could say that,” Lian Xi replied with a hint of speechlessness.
“What do you mean you could say that?” Yun Xiao was puzzled.
Lian Xi paused before explaining, “All Dreamsea Abalones are born female, but if their Emperor dies, a new one will automatically transform into a male to continue the lineage… All females will mate with him, ensuring the propagation of their species.” She paused, “This method of inheritance guarantees the transmission of their finest genes, with each generation surpassing the last.”
Yun Xiao’s worldview expanded with this revelation.
“So, there are no males among the Dreamsea Abalones initially. Whoever becomes the Emperor turns male and automatically claims the entire clan? And if the Emperor dies, a new one becomes male immediately…” Yun Xiao was astounded.
“The world is vast and filled with wonders.” Though Lian Xi expressed wonder, the coolness in her eyes towards the Dreamsea Abalones remained unchanged.
“Becoming Emperor changes one to male, pairing with the entire clan, meaning he could also reproduce with his own mother or daughter… My word!” Yun Xiao was dizzy, trying to grasp this ethical conundrum.
“The Dreamsea Abalones don’t have concepts of parents; each individual is separate, with only the Emperor and the clan members mattering, so there are no ethical dilemmas,” Lian Xi clarified, pouting slightly at Yun Xiao and quipping, “Why are you so interested anyway.”
“Just curiosity.” Yun Xiao coughed.
As they conversed in hushed tones, the Dreamsea Abalone beauties arrayed themselves in two rows before them.
Then, from the depths of the cloud sea, the most ethereal mist approached, and amidst the throng of graceful figures, a dreamlike beauty in snow-white gossamer, the most dignified and elegant Yun Xiao had ever seen, made her way forward.
Though scantily clad, she radiated not vulgarity but the aura of a dreamy Immortal. Her seductive figure represented desire, while her elegant visage spoke of purity.
“This Dreamsea Abalone is the most beautiful,” Yun Xiao declared.
Lian Xi, with a hint of embarrassment, whispered, “He’s the Mirage Immortal, the Emperor of the Dreamsea Abalones.”
“Good heavens,” Yun Xiao’s vision dimmed for a moment. After giving the beauty another look, he expressed his disbelief, “His figure is entirely feminine, and yet… there’s more.”
No sooner had he spoken than his gaze drifted downward.
Indeed, there was a noticeable bulge, the only discordant note on this otherwise perfect form. Imagine, if you will, a beauty unmatched, with a figure to ignite the deepest desires, harboring a secret that could make one question the very fabric of life.
“But of course! She is not human after all, but a shellfish, and oddities are to be expected.” Yun Xiao set aside his initial surprise, accepting the Mirage Immortal for what it truly was, a male of its kind.
With this acceptance, his gaze softened. He hadn’t expected the Mirage Immortal to personally come to see them.
Now, surrounded by a throng of her kind, the Mirage Immortal made his way directly toward Yun Xiao.
In that moment, all the Yin-Yang Immortals watched him intently, a silent warning not to tread foolishly.
“The illustrious Yun Xiao, I’ve long heard tales of your divine visage. Seeing you today, I marvel that such celestial grace exists in this mortal realm,” the Mirage Immortal began, his lips parting in a smile, his voice more delicate and ethereal than any woman’s.
Yun Xiao, rendered speechless by his feminine voice, responded indifferently, “Flattery will get you nowhere. What do you want?”
“Word is, you’ve eradicated a great evil, slaying the Mystic Earth Immortal?” he asked softly, laughter hiding in his tone.
“Yes.” Yun Xiao nodded.
“How did you achieve it?” the Mirage Immortal inquired, his interest piqued by Yun Xiao’s apparent condition.
He was still in the Five Decays Realm, an observation all too clear to the Mirage Immortal.
The Oblivion Demon Sea didn’t have to face the Heavenly Decay; they faced only the Five Disasters. So, their realm was teeming with Yin-Yang Immortals.
“That’s none of your concern,” Yun Xiao retorted.
The Mirage Immortal paused, then smiled wryly, “I hadn’t expected such a lofty figure as yourself to be so refreshingly candid and carefree. It adds to your charm.”
His smile, indeed, made it hard for anyone to harbor dislike. This Mirage Immortal, in both speech and self-reference, retained the mannerisms of a woman, suggesting a life mostly spent in feminine guise.
“Speak plainly,” Yun Xiao said.
“I admire your directness, so I’ll not beat around the bush,” the Mirage Immortal said with a leisurely smile. “I propose we collaborate to slay the Sky Source Immortal.”
“Why should I partner with you?” Yun Xiao inquired.
“Our interests align. With one Immortal down, you claim the Primordial Ruins; I take the Immortal Asylum,” the Mirage Immortal said, his eyes narrowing with a smile.
“And why should I trust you?” Yun Xiao pressed.
“Between man and demon, a millennium of enmity needs no trust. Our alliance would be built solely on mutual benefit. Among us three, the Three Immortals still reign supreme. In a stand-off, the strongest must fall first! Then, we may vie amongst ourselves, relying on our own merits,” the Mirage Immortal explained.
“Well said,” Yun Xiao acknowledged with a glance. “Seeing as you’ve come to me, you must have a foolproof plan?”
“Not foolproof, but our cards are on the table,” the Mirage Immortal glanced back at the Immortal Asylum. “Our entire clan has expended its power to confine the Sky Source Immortal within the asylum. Lost in illusion, his spirit will wane, growing ever weaker. When the time comes, we strike together.”
“How long?” Yun Xiao asked.
“Three days,” she answered.
“Agreed,” Yun Xiao nodded.
The Mirage Immortal paused, then bowed, “Yun Xiao, a celestial being aloof from worldly affairs, decisive in action.”
“I hope your plan justifies my decisiveness. Otherwise, the wrath will fall upon your clan,” Yun Xiao said with a smile.
Hearing this, the Mirage Immortal and his entourage of diaphanous beauties laughed softly.
Then, they bowed in unison to Yun Xiao and took their leave, vanishing into the mists.
“Is that settled then?”
The crowd looked at Yun Xiao, still somewhat uneasy. They all knew the Dreamsea Abalones to be creatures of great danger, their threat and ambition scarcely less than that of the Three Immortals. The lower the Mirage Immortal bowed, the more dangerous he became.
“Let’s agree for now; who knows what the next three days may bring?” Yun Xiao said.
At this, the crowd could only respond with a mix of laughter and tears.
For them, three days blinked away, but for Yun Xiao… who could say what changes might come?
“You can come out now.” As the Dreamsea Abalone arrived, Pale Revenant had hidden herself away, but now Yun Xiao summoned her back.
“Immortal Yun.” Pale Revenant approached, head bowed, a picture of reverence and humility.
Her posture prompted puzzled glances among Dean Yu and Shen Cang.Reêad latest 𝒏ov𝒆ls at n𝒐𝒐v/e/l/bi𝒏(.)com
“Are there still deep sea corpse demons in the Oblivion Demon Sea?” Yun Xiao asked.
“Deep down, there are many,” Pale Revenant paused, “Frankly, it’s a sea of corpses, silent for years.”
“Good, I give you three days to pillage their domain,” Yun Xiao said with a smile.
Pale Revenant looked up at him. She wanted to stay and protect Yun Xiao at this critical moment. Yet, she also knew that Yun Xiao must have a better plan.
So, she obediently nodded, “Yes, then I shall take my leave.”
“Thank you. When you return, I’ll cleanse you again,” Yun Xiao said softly.
“Thank you, Immortal Yun.” Pale Revenant turned, her slender figure quickly vanishing into the mists.
The others continued to watch Yun Xiao, awaiting his directives.
“Everyone, rest for three days,” Yun Xiao said.
The crowd looked to Dean Yu and Shen Cang.
“Let’s follow Yun Xiao’s lead,” they said in unison.
“Alright!”
They descended into the Nine Hells, entering a city and temporarily settling in a courtyard.
“If the Three Immortals win, the myriad worlds become a nest of Gu. If the Dreamsea Abalones win, all beings fall into dreams, the myriad worlds become a sea of corpses… both paths lead to death!”
Dean Yu stood in the wind, her white hair fluttering, eyes filled with unending concern.
In the courtyard, two figures clung tightly to each other, their glances full of silent communication.
“Who among them carries hope?”
