Chapter 134 (2)
Lu Sicheng had kissed Tong Yao rather exasperatedly, or nervously rude, or passionately domineering, or gently, but today’s kiss was different from all the others– — He was cautiously sucking her lips and the tip of her tongue. He was like a large pet who had done something wrong and was licking his owner’s palm with drooping ears trying to please the owner. It was like he was worried that the next second he would be tossed out the door and join the pack of stray cats and dogs.
Tong Yao’s breath became erratic, then she felt everything in front of her become blurry. She could only see Lu Sicheng’s slightly quivering eyelashes, like two tiny fans or like butterflies fluttering wings……
“Lu Sicheng.” Tong Yao pricked the man’s ear and pushed him slightly away: “I’ve told you I’m alright, it’s not like this is the first time I’ve gotten dissed……”
Lu Sicheng backed away a bit and cast his eyes down to look at her. Tong Yao’s lips had turned into a nice red color from the kiss. Lu Sicheng pressed his lips together into a straight line, seemingly disturbed and worried.
Tong Yao reached over to touch his eyelashes. Lu Sicheng didn’t try to avoid it. Tong Yao pulled her hand back: “I’m really ok. I’m going to sleep. If you are really concerned about people dissing me, then we’d better not lose the game with Huawei this week. For esports, anything you say won’t do a thing, only winning talks.”
“En.”
“Where’s Dabing and Xiao Cong?”
“They’re in the cage downstairs.”
“Go bring them up here to keep me company in bed.”
“……”
Lu Sicheng wasn’t moving, Tong Yao gave him a push: “Go, hurry.”
Lu Sicheng stood up and walked over to the door– –But he didn’t go out the door, rather he simply closed the door, turned around, and came right back. Then, under Tong Yao’s confusing gaze, he kicked off his slippers and climbed onto her bed: “It’s better I hug you to go to sleep than you hugging the cats.”
“……”
Tong Yao squeezed to make enough room for Lu Sicheng to lie down next to her. He put her cell phone a good distance away from her and used his long arm to turn off the light. Then he pulled Tong Yao, who had wide eyes, into his arms. Tong Yao then realized what he was doing and moved her body a bit: “You’re the same as cats?”
“We’re different.” Lu Sicheng still sounded somewhat gloomy: “I’m better than cats.”
As he was saying that, he was ready to force her into his arms to stop her from talking– –Tong Yao couldn’t fight against his strength and stopped moving and pressed the tip of her nose against his chest……
The two of them were silent for a while. Then Tong Yao discovered that the man’s rhythmic breathing and the warm arm under her head……were quite hypnotic.
…………………………………Tong Yao thought, never mind.
Tong Yao yawned: “Your arm will be useless tomorrow if you let me rest on it like this. I won’t pay sympathy to you then……”
“……”
“……Never mind, you just won’t listen. Whatever.” Tong Yao reached over to hug Lu Sicheng’s waist with both of her hands: “You put my cell phone so far away. I won’t sneak around to re-read those comments about me after you leave, you’re worrying over nothing.”
“……”
Lu Sicheng didn’t have a response, but surprisingly didn’t impatiently tell her to shut up either. Tong Yao was bored of talking to herself and gradually quieted down. Finally she huddled between the man’s arms and quietly said: “Good night.”
She heard the man’s chest vibrate with an “en” right next to her ear. She closed her eyes.
This night seemed especially long.
Though shrouded by uneasiness, the night was unexpectedly peaceful and full of a sense of security for Tong Yao like she had never experienced before– –The man who surrounded her was a tent propped over her head, warm and tranquil. It seemed that as long as he was around, she could be shielded from any storm.
……
The next two days, Tong Yao kept receiving private messages saying that they were “feeling sorry for Cheng Ge, why aren’t you.” The third day was the day for the competition against Huawei.
Tong Yao was rather uptight the two days before the game, but on the day of the match, she, on the contrary, became much more calm…… The team had been busy in those few days. They played all the skirmishes they could schedule, if there was no skirmish, they would practice with the B team– — The purpose of all the hard work was to speed up the process of resolving the problems the team were facing now and making the necessary adjustments.
The team had to improve their ability at carrying out Lu Sicheng’s orders and improve their map awareness. Lu Sicheng, on the other hand, had to learn how to get used to his teammates who may have other suggestions and how to make the best decision in the shortest amount of time.
All the training required the entire team to be highly concentrated. Everyone was exhausted. But because there was a clear goal for them to move towards it little by little, they all enjoyed the process.
